Rotary Club of Copperas Cove

District Governor Visits Copperas Cove Rotary

District Governor (DG) Melinda Osburn and her husband Tim recently visited our club to share her 2015-16 goals for the district. DG Osburn recognized the outstanding work our club has performed over the past year and identified three goals and supporting strategies for each of the goals. She encouraged all members to work with our President, Eric Armstrong, to accomplish these goals at the club level, which will help her accomplish them for our district.
Goal One
Reverse the overall decline in membership by engaging every Rotarian in the process of growing their club by getting members to focus on:
  • Retention of existing members
  • Increasing membership diversity
  • Turning members into Rotarians
  • Telling our Rotary story
  • Growing our bench (EAFK, Interact, Rotaract)
Goal Two
Increase Rotary Foundation giving through education about how it works, where the money goes, and the good that comes from it. Club strategies should include:
  • Setting challenging but attainable club goals
  • Setting the example for our members
  • Planning or participating in a sustainable Global Grant project
  • Ending Polio Now – Pints for Polio (October 24, 2015)
Goal Three
Increase support, education and participation in public image activities by working on:
  • Making Rotary a great household word in our communities
  • Attracting new members through increased communications about what we do and why it matters
  • Sharing “Your Rotary Moment” story
